Pick a track
Every track asks a different question. Long straights want a slippery car; tight corners want grip.
Set the car up
This is the aerodynamics: the wings and the floor. Change anything and watch the drawing and the numbers. Then go and drive it: the only lap time that counts is one you set yourself.
Bring your wing from Airfoil Lab
In Airfoil Lab, simulate your wing, then press Use as a car wing in Shell Lab and copy the link from the address bar. Paste it here.

What the driver said
Come back from a run and describe how the car felt. The garage will find the number behind the feeling and the smallest change that answers it. It will also tell you when the numbers disagree with you, which usually means the fix is in the driving.
or pick what your driver would have said:
What that does
Worked out with the same physics RaceSim drives with, so the garage and the track agree. The arrow shows the change against the standard setup.
Your lap time comes from driving, not from a prediction. RaceSim checks every lap by replaying your own inputs through the same physics.
